Afternoon tea and preloved fashion sale
![]() |
Village Water held its first ever afternoon tea and preloved fashion sale at The Peach Tree, Shrewsbury. With lots of help from four Shrewsbury Sixth Form College Students, and a pile of very stylish preloved clothes, the afternoon was a huge success. We’re sure the afternoon tea of sandwiches, cake and scones went down a treat too! A grand total of £393.50 was raised – not bad for a Saturday afternoon’s shopping and cake eating! |
Duke of Edinburgh Valentine Ball
Tuesday 14th February saw fourteen year olds Ollie and Jake host their Valentine Ball in support of Village Water’s work. They had previously completed a sponsored walk to raise the seed money needed for the event, and from ticket sales, a raffle and a bar, they raised over £518! |
The Kili Gals
A group of ambitious ladies took on the heights of Mount Kilimanjaro for Village Water. Driven by the challenges women in rural Zambia face in having no other option but to use unsafe and dirty water for their family's needs, the Kili Gals were determined to raise £20,000 to help alleviate the water and sanitation crisis in Zambia. They have so far raised £15,221. You can still sponsor them here: http://www.justgiving.com/KiliGals2012 |

Young brothers bike ride
Jake and Alex Jungmann (with dad Kurt) completed a 10 mile bike ride on Sunday 9th October 2011 around Rutland Water. It was a little windy at times, but they still managed to complete it in 2 hours and 45 minutes which is a fantastic achievement, even the 'problem chain' didn't hinder the ride. In the process they raised over £430 for Village Water. |
50th Birthday Run
Phil Sheppard undertook a Fell Run to celebrate his 50th birthday and raised £622.50 including GiftAid. |
Rowing down the Zambezi River
Row Zambezi has now raised over £19,000 for Village Water. In August 2011 a team of rowers attempted the world’s first ever rowing expedition along 1,000 kilometres of the Upper Zambezi, from the Angolan border with Zambia to the Victoria Falls. |
