Libulungu
Mr Bosco Kashekele, Secretary of the Water Committee, Libulungu Village gives thanks for the work of Village Water:
"We say thank you to the visitors who have come for the first time, and the second time, and the third time in our village! We really thank God who has made you people think of us by giving us the water we are enjoying today, from last year to today. Before we had this pump I tell you we were suffering. We had no clean safe water and we feel your assistance should not end here in Libulungu. You should help more, more, more people here in Africa. We had a lot of diseases before we got this pump and the children were really suffering, they were going to the hospital, but after this pump those diseases have all gone. We really thank the team for coming to advise us and sit down with us. We enjoy our lessons on water and sanitation. Before we used not to have latrines, we were just going in the bush, and our village was not looking how you are looking at it now. But today our village is clean we have latrines we are using everything sanitary. We really say thank you. We still say thank you very much, let’s not end here. Come often and educate us. Come often so we learn more and more things."
He made this speech during a visit to his village by UK Village Water trustees in September 2009.
