Village Water UK Staff
Clare Wearden:
Clare was appointed as Director of Village Water UK on April 18th 2011. Clare started her career as a teacher of Modern Foreign Languages and had a total change in 2000 when she took a Masters in Development while working part time for Oxfam. Following that, she took her family to Bolivia to volunteer for 18 months. One of her positions there was carrying out monitoring of community led water and sanitation projects for Water for People. On her return to the UK, Clare started working with Harvest Help, as the Trust Fundraiser and West Africa programme support coordinator, moving to the Funding Manager post when Harvest Help became Self Help Africa in 2008.
Clare isl focusing on developing the Zambia programme, while ensuring the continuing sustainability and value for money, of which Village Water is so proud; she is also concentrating on diversifying income streams and consolidating systems and procedures.
Adeline Rayment:
Adeline joined Village Water at the start of September 2011, and has over eight years fundraising experience. Having gained a degree in Marketing and Advertising, Adeline wanted to apply this knowledge to the non-profit sector and has worked in the charity world ever since.
Her fundraising experience covers telephone fundraising with the NSPCC, child sponsorship with EveryChild and corporate fundraising with WaterAid.
Adeline is focusing on sustaining and helping to grow Village Water's income through a variety of fundraising streams.
